Cathy McCormack’s ‘Evening Calls’ were aired on STV in 1993 as part of the ‘Thought for the Day’ series. They were a humorous approach to looking at the serious issues that faced her community. Damp housing, fuel poverty and poor health were an ongoing struggle, as well as the negative image of the schemes portrayed by the media. These short broadcasts were a wake up call to all who watched them.
