War Without Bullets
Cathy McCormack
War Without Bullets is a short film made for the United Nations 4th World Conference on Women to which Cathy McCormack was an invited speaker. The film showcases Cathy’s work as a global community, anti-poverty activist, raising awareness about ‘the war waged against the poor with briefcases instead of guns’. It highlights Cathy’s involvement in the first tenant-led energy conservation project, a ten year struggle by the people of Easthall, Easterhouse to secure safe, affordable, damp-free houses for their community to live in – ‘evidence that when people at the grassroots actually get listened to, then the benefits can go far beyond our own social and economic environment’.
